Inspirational Story- Life is like a cup of coffee

There are Various motivational stories, which have a valuable lesson wrapped up and presented as a compelling tale. Once in a while, you come across the such motivational story which makes you think and motivate to imbibe the learnings in your life. Many of my blog readers and followers have requested to start posting motivational and inspirational short stories about life.

Life is … like a cup of coffee

The lessons from this motivational story will help you look at things in different perspective, lift you up, and make your load a little lighter.

A group of best friends decided to have their alumni get together at the residence of one of their favorite university professors. The professor was very popular among university students. They finalized to make a surprise visit to professor. All planning was done and on predefined date they visited their most popular and old university professor’s house.

It was quite a happy moment for not only professor; but even for the all friends also as some of them were meeting after a long time. Everyone was trying to know whereabouts and the developments in their friend’s life after leaving college. They shared with each other; how did they move ahead in life. There was quality conversation going on, but somehow the conversation soon diverted to complaints about work, relationships, ‘stress ‘& ‘tension’ in life.

The professor offered them coffee and went to kitchen to ask his wife to prepare coffee for all his students. After 10-15 minutes, his beautiful wife came with a pleasant smile.  One thing was to be noticed that she brought coffee in different kinds of cups!!! (Crystal cups, glass cups, ceramic cups, shining ones, some plain looking, some ordinary, some exquisite and some expensive ones …). The students thought that professor may not have the same kind of cups and due to large number of guests; his wife has served the coffee in different cups. When all of them had a cup in hand, The professor said, “If you noticed, all the nice looking & expensive cups are taken up, leaving behind the ordinary, plain and cheap ones !!!”

It was surprising moment, as nobody noticed that there were some extra cups of coffee and while having their cup, nobody took the ordinary cups and all of them were left on the serving tray.

The professor continued, “Every one of you wanted the best CUPS. While it is, of course normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that can also be the source of much of your dissatisfaction, problems and stress and tension in life. “When all of them had a cup in hand, The professor said, “If you noticed, all the nice looking & expensive cups are taken up, leaving behind the ordinary, plain and cheap ones !!!”

It was surprising moment, as nobody noticed that there were some extra cups of coffee and while having their cup, nobody took the ordinary cups and all of them were left on the serving tray.

All the friends got confused and were looking towards professor; they could not understand; what’s the connection with having a coffee in chosen cup with the STRESS and TENSION of life.

Professor continued further and explained after seeing their curious face, “Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it is just more expensive; and in some cases, even it hides what we drink. What you really wanted was COFFEE, not the CUP! But you consciously went for the best cups… and then you began eyeing each other’s cups.”

Always remember one thing, if life is coffee; and jobs, money, status or position in society & love etc. are the cups! They are just tools to hold and contain life. The type of cup we have does not define or change the quality of life we live. Please don’t let the CUPS drive you!! Enjoy the COFFEE …!”

Ways to Improve Performance of your Desktop/Laptop- Part 1

It's Obvious that  all computers will experience slower speeds at some point. As software becomes more demanding, the way in which your PC reacts to these changes can have a big impact on its performance. The operating system you have and whether you have chosen to upgrade to Windows 10 can also make a big difference.

While you can upgrade your laptop to make it  faster, there are some improvements you can make that are more convenient and easier to do. These small tweaks might not seem to speed up your computer's performance, but combined they can help keep your PC running for years to come.

There are also several types of software available that can help you get rid of old files when looking for apps that you don't use often and might want to uninstall. These programs may also alert you to files and software that may be slowing down your computer and may be worth removing when finished. Here are seven ways to improve  overall computer speed and performance.

1. Uninstall unnecessary software

Your PC comes with Number of preloaded applications that many people won’t use but that can eat up system resources. You can usually Find these when you see a pop-up prompting you to update a program you’ve never used before.

  • Remove them from your Computer & Free up disk Space.
  • Go to Control Panel & Uninstall all unnecessary apps & Software.
2. Limit the program at Start up

You can also Determine which application runs when Your PC Starts. Window 10 has updated Task Manager that makes it easier to determine what you want to run in your Background and what you can start on your own.

  • To access Task Manager press Ctrl+ Shift+ ESC.
  • A box will appear as shown in Image above, will tell you amount of RAM used by each app running on your PC.
  • To make an adjustment, just right-click on the application you want to change to tell it not to run until commanded.
3. Add more RAM to PC

In terms of memory usage, Windows 10 uses less RAM than previous versions, but increasing RAM  has been a real way to speed up devices for years. If you have a convertible or detachable laptop, you'll probably have to settle for what comes in the box.
Some business and gaming laptops allow you to add RAM, but that can still be tricky. It's much easier to add more desktop RAM  and that's a lot too. Anyone with a basic idea of the inside of a desktop tower can install more RAM in about an hour.

You can also take your computer to a professional store to install more RAM. If you're worried about  compromising your system or doing it the wrong way, getting advice from someone who knows what they're doing can put your mind at rest and make it easier to add more memory.

4. Delete Temporary Files

Deleting Temp or Temporary files Once a week makes your laptop faster. In PCs, temporary files are created and stored when using graphics, video or media editing software, etc.  Generally, these files consume more space in your system.

Method to delete Temp files

Press WIN key + R -> Type “%temp%” -> Click OK -> Press Ctrl + A -> Press Shift + Delete -> Click “Yes”.

4. Run Defragmentation

Basically, while saving the files, the computer stores the data randomly in free space of hard disk. Because of this, the processor finds it difficult to retrieve files. To overcome this issue, we go for the defragmentation process. This process picks all the pieces of data that are spread across your hard drive and puts them back together again for the easy extraction of data by the processor.

Steps to Defragment your Windows 10 PC
  1. Select the search bar on the taskbar and enter defrag
  2. Select Defragment and Optimize Drives.
  3. Select the disk drive you want to optimize.
  4. Select the Optimize button.

5. Reboot or Restart your PC regularly

Restart your PC once in a day and lock the computer whenever you step out of your desk. This practice can improve your computer’s performance by flushing RAM, stopping memory leaks and fixing bugs. If your system gets slow down, first do restart your system before going for further steps.
